We're COVID-19 Secure: We're using enhanced cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures

Our housekeeping team of cleaners have adopted the new industry guidelines to ensure this work is carried out safely and we have worked the relevant precautions for customers and cleaners into our operations, including enhanced cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures.  We're also asking customers and our cleaners to take all reasonable steps to maintain social distancing during cleans. Cleans must be skipped if a customer or the cleaner has coronavirus symptoms, has been advised to self-isolate, or has been told to shield.  Please see below for the guidelines we're asking both customers and our cleaning team to follow.

Guidelines for our customers

  • Customers should skip cleans or pause their cleaning subscriptions if anybody in their home has coronavirus symptoms, has been advised to self-isolate, or has been told to shield
  • Customers should stay in another room or where possible leave the property while their cleaner is working and maintain social distancing of 1 metre at all times
  • Customers should take extra care in observing social distancing if anybody in their home is clinically vulnerable
  • Vulnerable customers should consider isolating themselves to a single room or leaving the property while their cleaner is working, or scheduling the clean for a time when they are not at home
  • Customers should open windows where possible and turn on extractor fans for ventilation
  • Customers should leave all internal doors open to minimise the cleaner coming into contact with door handles
  • Customers should minimise movement in corridors and stairs while their cleaner is working
  • Customers should wash their hands before and after handling any cleaning products or equipment provided by the customer to our cleaner
  • Customers where providing equipment should wash cleaning cloths and mop covers at a high temperature (60C+) after every use
  • Customers should book a deep clean after a known or suspected case of coronavirus, and should make us aware of the possible contamination at the time of booking. We will send a specialist team for these cleans

Guidelines for our cleaners

  • Cleaners should book time off & not attend cleans if anybody in their home has coronavirus symptoms, has been advised to self-isolate, or has been told to shield
  • Cleaners should take extra care in observing social distancing if anybody in their home is clinically vulnerable
  • Cleaners should wear face covering when attending jobs and should thoroughly wash their hands with warm water & soap for 20 seconds, before, during and after their cleans
  • Where no handwashing facilities are available, cleaners should use hand sanitiser, which they should carry with them at all times
  • Cleaners should use disposable or machine washable gloves and should remove shoes, or wear shoe covers when attending any jobs
  • Cleaners where possible should open windows where possible and turn on extractor fans for ventilation
  • Cleaners should wash their hands before and after handling any cleaning products provided by the customer, including; sprays, cloths, vacuum cleaners & mops
  • Cleaners should use warm water (not hot or cold) when cleaning surfaces and mopping floors, to maximise the effectiveness of cleaning products
  • Cleaners should pay extra attention to 'high-touch' areas, such as; door and cupboard handles, light switches, TV remotes, tables, countertops. These surfaces should be cleaned using regular products, then disinfected using a product that 'kills 99.9% of germs' such as Antibacterial Surface Cleaning Spray
  • Cleaners at all times should avoid shaking dirty laundry & soft furnishings such as bath mats and rugs
  • Cleaners should wash cleaning cloths and mop covers at a high temperature (60C+) after every use
